Anthony (Andy) Mazzarella, CEO![]() Andy joined SCALABLE as Chief Executive Officer in October, 2011. He possesses over 30 years of experience in technology, general management and finance. Previously, Andy co-founded and served as CEO and Chairman of AOptix Technologies, Inc., a worldwide leader in ultra-high-bandwidth laser communications for U.S. defense and intelligence customers. Andy continues to serve on its board of directors.
Dr. Rajive Bagrodia, CTO and Founder![]() Dr. Bagrodia served as a Professor of Computer Science at UCLA, where he led a research group in mobile computing and parallel and distributed programming that produced simulation systems such as Maisie, Parsec, and GloMoSim. He founded SCALABLE in 1999 in the wake of significant innovations his research group achieved in the theory and practice of performance prediction for complex, large-scale computer and communication systems. Dr. Bagrodia has published over 150 research papers in Computer Science journals and at international conferences on high performance computing, wireless networking, and parallel simulation. The GloMoSim library for simulation of large, mobile ad hoc networks was part of DOMAINS, a Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) funded project at UCLA. The QualNet network simulation platform grew out of ideas developed in this project. Dr. Bagrodia received a Bachelor of Technology in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay and a PhD degree in computer science from the University of Texas at Austin. Roger Moyers, COO![]() Roger is responsible for day-to-day operations at SCALABLE, managing Engineering, Support and Administration. Previously, he was CEO at Astute Networks where he built a successful team that created a high performance protocol processor. Earlier in his career, Roger was VP of Software and VP of Product Development at XLNT Designs, and ultimately managed the acquisition of the company by Intel Corporation where he became the San Diego site manager with remote teams in Denmark and Oregon.
Tim Lee-Thorp, SVP Sales & Marketing![]() Tim owns the customer facing organizations at SCALABLE. He started his career as an engineer developing finite element analysis software to simulate mechanical systems and components. Over a 20 year period in Silicon Valley, he moved from product management up to marketing executive for a series of start-ups delivering a variety of communications products and enterprise software solutions. Tim has been through three IPOs (Vitalink, Network General, Remedy) and three successful acquisitions. Ken Tang, VP Engineering
At SCALABLE, Dr. Ken Tang has spearheaded the development of the Communication Effects Server (CES) for the Future Combat Systems (FCS) program, which provided detailed simulation models in WNW, SRW, WIN-T, SINCGARS and EPLRS. Ken also oversaw the JTRS Network Emulator (JNE) development that is being used at JPEO, ATEC and other military facilities to perform testing and evaluation of military radios. JNE enhances on CES by providing emulation capabilities to the CES. Steve Savluk, VP Finance
Steve has extensive financial experience in a variety of industries including manufacturing, wholesale, printing, oil and gas, high technology, and film production. At SCALABLE, he manages all of the corporate accounting functions and financial affairs. Steve is also responsible for negotiating the majority of the government project contracts.
Major General George W. “Nordie” Norwood, USAF (Ret), Board of DirectorsFormer Air Force Major General George “Nordie” Norwood brings defense industry leadership to SCALABLE. General Norwood has extensive experience in the management of command and control systems domestically inside the United States Department of Defense and internationally. Over his long career in the US Air Force, General Norwood was a tactical fighter pilot and Air Force officer, planner and leader, serving in posts throughout Europe and Asia. More recently, he served as Deputy Chief of Staff for the United Nations Command and United States Forces in Korea. In this role, General Norwood was responsible for critical general officer level negotiations with North Koreans. He was also Commander of the 35th Fighter Wing at Misawa Air Base in Japan, where he was the senior US Military Member in Northern Japan. Since retiring from the Air Force, General Norwood has served in a variety of professional capacities. He is on the Board of Directors for the Airborne Tactical Advantage Company (ATAC) and the WidePoint Corporation, and serves on the Board of Strategic Advisors for AtHoc, Inc. |
